The property was very nice, quiet and clean. The view was amazing, the staff wonderful. I especially enjoyed talking to the father of the owner who was working very hard to perfect the outdoor stone-work! (It was very nice meeting you! Greetings from the motorcycle-lady!)
I loved the overall feel of the place. Old style with modern touches. The breakfast was excellent also. I cannot recommend this place more!

Very warm welcome by our hosts. The late night toasties saved our lives :) We had our best English breakfast (fresh products and prepared with care) of the whole holidays. The rooms are very comfortable in which we slept like babies.

Lovely town on a steep hillside, with a sandy beach at the bottom. Really lovely food at the pub The Spyglass.
Botanical Gardens are wonderful, cliff walk lovely in both directions, and a great walk up on to the downs from where you can see the whole Island. Did everything on foot and by bus.

Really loved the town, wasn't too big.
Really loved the town, wasn't too big. Had shops to cater for all you would need. Very clean. Every where we went the people always welcoming and so friendly.
Lots of great walks on your doorstep whether it is along the coast or across the downs. Or there is a great bus service that can take you to the popular attractions.
Eating out there were all manner of food you could enjoy. Also at all price levels to suit your budget. Have to say our absolute favourite place to eat based on price and quality was The Bistro.
Has extremely steep hills to get down to the esplanade so would require you to drive if you had any mobility issues.
Would highly recommend.

Ventnor has lots to recommend it when taken individually - a variety of bars, cafes restaurants and pubs, a couple of mini supermarkets, a lot of quirky independent shops and antique shops, car parking, kids play areas, beach and some walkable attractions. The difficulty is the roads linking the downs, town and beach and all very steep, narrow and winding which made us think twice about getting the car out sometimes.

Still a bit run down, but the Town is on the Up.Lovely Beach and Esplanade The Town still harbours a few Alkies and Drug users, but they seem to appear to be on the Decline.Ventnor is very Hilly so be warned. The Spyglass is the best pub in Ventnor
Lovely place to stay - very spacious apartment. It had everything you would need - kitchen was well equipped. Garden is very well maintained and spacious, perfect for breakfast outside. The location is not very close to Ventnor (by walking distance), but at the same time very close to costal walk - 5 mins and you can enjoy sea, peace and quiet. Very friendly owners. Overall very enjoyable stay, would definitely return, if we have a chance.
Great location within walking distance to coastline and Ventnor town centre. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and immaculately kept which made for a very comfortable stay. There was a wide choice for breakfast - fresh fruit, cereals, cooked breakfast. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
I thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely choose to stay at St Maur again when visiting the IOW
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Botanist's Rest in Ventnor, Isle of Wight; it's a cute little terraced cottage just off the High Street. It's well decorated and finished to a high standard, and the house was immaculately clean, comfortable and welcoming. It's a short walk into Ventnor town, where there are a number of restaurants and bars. We had a great stay and would certainly consider visiting again.
Everything about this hotel was great. The rooms were comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was superb. There was also an excellent range of options for breakfast. The hotel was a short walk away from the centre of Ventnor and the sea front. The ambience was old-fashioned luxury without being stuffy.
We arrived on a Thursday and had the pool pretty much to ourselves for the whole day. The majority of the staff were excellent, very welcoming and accommodating. Parking at the property was easy and plenty of availability. Only a short walk to the beach and centre. The breakfast was amazing. Lots of options and very tasty.
The location was superb being right on the seafront and with a comfortable sun soaked deck area. The lovely little beach cafe, The Seapot, was only a short walk away, and Ventnor esplnanade was also in walking distance. The accomodation and facilities were comfortable and Haylie the manager was friendly and helpful.
Superb location 60 seconds from the beach and esplanade. One parking space, which is a bonus in Ventnor. All facilities up to standard. Tea, coffee, salt, pepper, sugar. Cling film (a little). Plenty of crockery etc Although there was accommodation above and below, this did not cause any issues.
Great hosts Ruth and Rob welcomed us into their beautiful home. Rooms were clean and spacious, breakfast was wonderful. Garden was gorgeous, so peaceful and relaxing. A short walk at the end of the garden to a lovely quiet beach cove and coastal walks into Ventnor. Loved every part of our stay.
Beautiful property over looking the sea. Access to the beach direct from the hotel.
Very comfortable bed and good shower.
The staff were very friendly.
Excellent breakfast with great choice. Breakfast room overlooking the sea and terrace outside.
Beach Clean practical and very pretty in a unique retro style. Annette was very kind and helpful. Lots of games and books. Lots of light. Good shower neat kitchen well equipped. Very central with Ventnor beach 2 minutes walk. Cafes shops all around.
A gem on the Isle Of Wight. Very friendly team, great location for the 'bottom' of the island, first class restaurant (make sure you're there Friday - steak night is terrific). Lovely garden too.
Great breakfast, good restaurant, friendly staff. Beautiful views from the hotel and well located within Ventnor. Near the beach. 30 minutes drive to the Needles or Osborne House.
Great host, good location. The property was in the center of Ventnor, there was a good bar downstairs, and a nice little garden in the rear. I enjoyed it, it hit the spot.
