I liked the area as there are some lovely little villages...
I liked the area as there are some lovely little villages within a 20 mile radius. It was nice to see all around without having to travel far. There is lots to see and do, whatever your heart desires in almost on your doorstep. We had our dinner out in Anna's restaurant and OMG the batter is so crispy and tasty, the chips were crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. Cockermouth is a pretty town with many buildings of interest...
Cockermouth is a pretty town with many buildings of interest. Wordsworth's birthplace is there, but it is closed in winter. The rivers Cocker and Derwent flow through the town with banks of daffodils in spring. A terrific little town, great local shops, interesting Wordsworth Museum. Pic of us dressing up in Museum! Good town centre parking. Lots of pubs and places to eat. There's even a theatre. The whole place is old but very interestingly pictureque. We will make a habit of coming back

It was a really sweet and lovely house and we all loved it, it was perfect for my dad's birthday. The house was very clean and so cosy and comfortable, the staff we spoke to were lovely and the area of Cockermouth was amazing to explore as our first time in the Lake District. Very cosy living space with comfy sofa. The kitchen and bathroom were all new and nicely kept. The host was really nice and friendly too. The place is set in lovely and peaceful countryside, yet very easy to get to from the main roads.
