One of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, picturesque Maastricht has an international feel. Not only can you walk to Belgium and cycle to Germany, this town also gave birth to the European Union and euro following the 1992 Maastricht Treaty.
Its largest square – Vrijthof – houses the twin churches of St Jan and St Servaas, a theatre and several pavement cafes. Various festivals and the Magic Maastricht Christmas markets are also held here. Markt square is home to the Flemish-style town hall, a twice-weekly market and yet more restaurants and bars offering great nightlife.
The excellent shopping options in Maastricht include unique shops on the cobbled Old Town streets, exclusive boutiques on Stokstraat, and the Entre Deux and Mosae Forum shopping centres. Dotted amongst these is Booking.com’s wide range of Maastricht accommodation.
Well-preserved city walls surround the Old Town and run close to the Maas River where boat trips are available. Underground are the Casemates, a visitable maze of defensive tunnels used in times of siege, while on the city’s outskirts are the St Pietersberg Caves, former World War II shelters with intriguing wall art.

The city is a gem.
The city is a gem. I am probably biased, as I was raised there, but I have not lived in Maastricht for more than 50 years and come back 2 to 3 times yearly. It is one of the most amazing small cities in Europe.

A beautiful, clean, safe-feeling city with a truly international feel. A huge range of shops, bars and restaurants. A river running through it. An extremely walkable and, unsurprisingly for the Netherlands, cycle-friendly city. We ventured through the city square area to a lower key area on the edge of the centre, that seemed to have fewer tourists and more students, and ate at a good Korean fusion restaurant. We enjoyed some Maastricht-made beer.

What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands!
What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands! My husband and I explored the city on foot for three days and discovered lovely shops, wonderful coffeeshops (check out Fixed Gear if you are a cyclist), and interesting restaurants. Every meal we had in the town was delicious, and the locals were unfailingly accommodating.

It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere.
It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere. Beautiful historical areas. There are many parks and green areas to walk through. A lot of hidden gems on the outskirts of the city - definitely worth hopping on the bus from one end to the other and discovering what lies outside of the city center. Must try the breakfast menu from Coffeelovers Plein 1992.
The room was nice and spacious, the breakfast was really great - it's a nice touch to have the staff personally make your eggs just the way you want them, and to also give you the option for pancakes. Feels like a really nice breakfast restaurant. Location is perfect, five minutes walk from the city centre but the hotel itself is still really nice and quiet. The staff were also all nice and helpful. I'd happy stay here again when I return to Maastricht.
I had a wonderful stay at easyHotel Maastricht City Centre. The location was central to restaurants, shops and parks. It felt very safe to walk around the area at night and use my personalised keycard to leave and enter as needed. I also appreciated the large lockers that were available for rent after my stay, to store my luggage until I needed to head to the train station (about a 20 minute walk). The staff were friendly and helpful.
Totally satisfied with the hotel level, very comfortable stay. Pieces of Art in the lobby and restaurant made the atmosphere even more pleasant. And seems their Chef in the restaurant (left from the entrance) is very professional! Once having ordered first time there, we did not even hesitate to keep visiting this place for dinners, despite there are a lot of good food-spots in Maastricht.
The staff were friendly and hospitable. There was soup, coffee, tea and fruits that they offered free of charge.
The room was clean.
The hotel's location was outstanding, situated near the city's central station and only a 10-minute walk from the city centre.
The lobby of the hotel was nice and you could find games and books to enjoy the moments there.
Perfect location. 10 mins walk to city centre and less than 5 mins walk from the train station. Very accessible to everything from coffee shops, restaurants and shopping stores. The hotel is very clean and the staff were very friendly.
The room is spacious and quiet. I will definitely stay here again. Towels were clean and the bed is so comfortable.
A great option right opposite the central station. The hotel is quite funky but also very comfortable. Staff were really nice and helpful both at check-in and check-out. It's close to the historical centre of Maastricht (about 10-15 minutes' walk). The De Colonel Q-Park is about 100 metres away and it costs 16 euro for 24 hours. Good wifi.
Used this a a base close enough for us to walk to the theatre where I was performing in the city centre. It had a young vibe and energy and the industrial style of the rooms and facilities was perfectly achieved. A very different experience from most traditional hotels
Absolutely lovely boutique hotel, with spacious, newly furbished rooms right in the city centre. All the city attractions are within short walking distance.
The buffet breakfast was very good, and the hospitality of the staff outstanding.
Wholeheartedly recommended!
We enjoyed our stay and we will come back to it. The staff are exceptionally helpful. The service is first class and the room was very clean. Breakfast was very good. The location of the hotel close to the train station and the city centre is another bonus.
The apartment is located in a beautiful and central area, super close to the station and a short walk to the city centre. It is well equipped with everything you might need and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend :)
The hotel is conveniently located to city centre.
The rooms interior is beautiful and the room itself is spacious with a big comfortable bed, my husband and I loved the bath tub.
The breakfast is also wonderful!!
Breakfast was excellent, service when arriving at the hotel was exceptional. Rooms were very charming and the original building is still mostly intact. Would highly recommend it to friends and family.
