Hotel in Laxey
Set in Laxey, 200 metres from Laxey Beach, Shore Hotel Laxey offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. The breakfast was very good. the technology in the hotel is so over the top. We do not need a toilet seat that lifts up when you enter the bathroom. There were reading lights on both sides of the bed but a switch on only one side which made it difficult for one person to read later than the other but not be able to switch the light off without getting out of bed and walking to the other side and then walking back in the dark.. We could not understand the TV as it was far too complicated

The hotel is extremely clean and well kept. Very unusual interior balconies. Staff are all pleasant, helpful and informative and fulfilled my requests for both rooms on a lower floor and beside one another. Room facilities suited our needs really well, especially the mini fridge, microwave and sofa in my parents' room. Spacious room, flooded with sunlight (thanks to the really large windows) and beautiful view of the sea and docking ferries. Very comfortable bed. Lift went to both reception/breakfast area and also the underground carpark which was a bonus when checking out. Ample breakfast items which were always fully stocked. I can wholeheartedly recommend the porridge. Easy walking distance to the main shopping area/beach.

Douglas is good to start your visit to the Isle of Man but you much travel around the island because there is a lot to see and do. The ferry terminal is very easy to navigate on arrival and departure.
Good centre for exploring the Isle of Man. The horse drawn trams along the promenade are great fun. Plenty of restaurants, but the shopping is generally disappointing. A couple of new bars and restaurants around the railway station are worth a visit.
Douglas and the whole of the Isle of Man was beautiful, getting around was easy, lots of choices - tram, electric train, steam train, car, bus, or just plain walking. Only thing that I wasn't too happy about was the number of places that wouldn't let my dog in.
Douglas is the capital town and has all the facilities you may require. It is a main centre from which to explore the beautiful parts of the Isle of Man whose main appeal is in its hills, coasts and countryside. The public transport is good with buses, trams and steam trains, to all parts of the Island. Seek out the local food, delicious organic dairy, meat and fish, locally caught. Locally brewed beer. The Isle of Man is a Unesco Biosphere site.
Favourite town on the Isle on Man. A good base to see the island. Lovely beach and a steam train station which takes you into Douglas the capital. The airport is very near and there is a fantastic variety of places to see. The Isle of Man is beautiful with such a rich heritage. You can walk, golf, ride, coasteer, cycle, kayak etc.
Port Erin is a beautiful place, good scenery, walk around is very refreshing and local people are very helpful, small place but it has everything you need the buses to the airport and Douglas are every 20 minutes, for sure it's one of the best island, in isle of man
Gorgeous views from the mountain and its surroundings , got very lucky with the weather (as we travelled on motorcycle) we got to see most of Isle of Man, other than just the TT track.
Not just Douglas, but the whole of the Isle of Man is a great place to holiday & stay. It's beautiful, relaxing & the people are lovely. It's not my first time there & will definitely not be my last. Love the Isle of Man.
Very clean nd friendly. Mention Tina who looked after us on the boat. She is a resident of Isle of Man and really took care of us both. Quite an ambassador for isleland.
I have been around UK and travele everywhere but when i came Isle of man and specially Port Erin i have found pure natural beauty n peaceful atmosphere. I would like to visit again soon with my family. إن شاء الله Isle of man😘
The hotel was modern and had some lovely decor and well displayed posters of the isle of man.The toiletries In the bathroom were of a good quality and the tea making facilities were well stocked daily..The hotel had some lovely little touches like chocolates and a sleepy tea bag which were placed on our bed each evening.. The dining room was very traditional and the choice at breakfast was extensive and would suit all tastes.
We came to Isle Of Man parkrun and the weather was extremely windy and wet. We were due to book in at 3pm at the Best Western Palace so when we arrived at the hotel, we were wet through and very muddy. We couldn’t go to our rooms as we were too early, but we were allowed to use the pool, spa and showers to clean up and change into dry clothes. We were so relieved to have a hot shower with towels and facilities all free.
Douglas
The Island is a very welcoming and comfortable hotel run by Celine, Antony and Reanne. Communications from Celine were very good. The rooms are spacious and very clean with very nice showers too! Breakfast is wonderful, with a range of cereals to a full cooked breakfast and even kippers. The breakfasts were a perfect and welcome start to a busy day at the Isle of Man.
Hotel was in quieter part of Isle Of Man, right beside the water for an early morning walk. Quaint little sleepy town 7 minute walk away, 3 minute drive. Approx 30-40 min drive to Douglas. Hotel was clean and tidy. Breakfast available and sufficient. Staff friendly and polite. Bed - clean and comfy. Good space in the room. Partial view of the sea. Hotel is well kept.
Castletown
Absolutely stunning apartment, it was like a dream apartment, lovely location with nice views of the castle. The living room was really nice, the whole apartment was perfect, and the owner and manager were both very helpful and kind. The owner even gave me a gift of a book about Isle of Man! I will definitely go back again. Perfect holiday home.
Douglas
ideally situated for beach - steam train station - bus depot -restaurants. The apartment was modern and comfy with a view off the yachting harbour a breakfast was left each day of cereal /baguels/fruit and youghurts. A healthy start to the day. This is a smart well located base for a visit to the Isle of Man.
Castletown
The hotel was so nice and clean, I think it was the best hotel on the Isle of Man. Staff were super friendly and helpful, they just made the stay so pleasant and made us feel so welcomed. Offered to reserve a table for us for dinner and thankfully for that, because we didn't have anywhere else to eat.
Really lovely hotel. The staff are absolutely delightful, the room was very nice and extremely quiet and breakfast was lovely. The location is excellent, with really good transport links for getting across the whole island. We would definitely come back to this hotel if we visit the Isle of Man again.
Would definitely recommend the Isle of Man, this was our first visit and we really enjoyed it.The hotel location is excellent, very good for access to the many attractions in the area. The breakfast was very good, as was the attached pan asian restaurant.
Port Erin
The hosts were very kind and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The hotel is located close to several restaurants and a bike rental shop, which makes it helpful to discover the island. I would comeback here for my next visit to Isle of Man.
Port Erin
Great position and great view The accommodation had everything we needed and it was cheaper than other apartments. The owners didn’t mind us carrying up road bikes into the bedroom as we were there for the Isle of Man Junior Road races
I had the pleasure of staying at the Halvard Hotel on the Isle of Man and I must say that it was a fantastic experience. The staff were excellent, providing exceptional service throughout our stay. Thank you!
We went to stay in Isle of Man as our son was getting married there 👍 He suggested the hotel as it was near a lot of facilities (eg. Buses, shops, promenade, eating places) & we were happy with that 😀
Lovely spacious apartment, very comfortable, good location in Ramsey. Great communication throughout from Paul! Would stay here again if visiting the Isle of Man.
Beautiful hotel. Very polite staff. Amazing food. If we visit Isle of Man again we will definitely be back! Thank you.
Probably the best hotel in Isle of Man! Highly recommended! Merry Christmas and a happy New year!
Staff are lovely Brilliant price
Our hosts were fantastically warm and welcoming, offering tea and homemade biscuits upon arrival. We joined John in the morning in feeding the lambs, chickens, and pigs. The kids loved it! There were also new kittens that the kids couldn’t get enough of. Our stay at Knockaloe Beg Farm was an experience in itself, rather than just a place to sleep.
The Barn was perfect! from the communication and personalization from the host, the ideal iv location, and the beauty of the home made for a perfect trip to the Isle of Man! The rooms were pristine, the kitchen was over the top, and our host made a true connection e we itch our family to really make us feel welcome.
